Nestled in Toronto's Exhibition Place is Medieval Times' only Canadian Castle. The Toronto Castle features unique -- but no less regal -- architecture from its former life as the Arts and Crafts Building of Exhibition Place. As our largest castle, Toronto provides ample space for King Philippe's massive feast, show of medieval games of skill and, of course, the authentic jousting tournament. The atmosphere inside the arena is electric as 1,400 revelers cheer on our six Knights whilst the swords clash and lances splinter

Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music

The Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music (CBAM) has been at Exhibition Place since 1973, it was, in fact, established in 1917 under special Federal and Provincial Charters. Working with the Ontario Ministry of Education to develop the first high school band program, CBAM initiated collaboration with the Canadian National Exhibition in 1921, which resulted in the first "Music Day" during the annual fair – a tradition that continues today.

Today, CBAM continues to promote the advancement of music and offers affordable, quality music instruction on a non-profit basis. Since its inception, over one million children have received an opportunity to explore and develop their musical skills through instructional programs that are offered in public elementary schools in and around the Greater Toronto Area. CBAM also offers an annual "Teacher Training Course in the Art of Group Instruction".  For additional information please contact (416) 260-6451.

Canadian National Exhibition Association

The Canadian National Exhibition Association ("CNEA") was formally established in 1912, the tradition of fairs and exhibitions at Exhibition Place dates back to 1879, when the first Industrial Exhibition was staged and managed by the Industrial Association of Toronto.

A year before, in 1878, the Provincial Agricultural Fair was held on what was to become the CNE grounds, or Exhibition Place. But the Provincial Agricultural Fair moved each year to a different town or city, and in 1879, Ottawa was chosen as host by the Board of Directors of the Provincial Agricultural Fair. That year, the City of Toronto decided to hold its own annual fair, and the Toronto Industrial Exhibition or CNE was born.

Since its founding in 1879, the CNE has served as a "Show Window of the Nation", introducing Canadians to advances in science, technology, agriculture and industry, as well as the latest trends in the arts and entertainment.

Today, the CNE Association continues the tradition of staging and managing a world-class fair in August of every year. The permanent full-time administrative offices for the CNEA are located in the Press Building. Constructed in 1905, this building has periodically served as the headquarters for the CNEA since 1905.
