- December 04, 2009The Board of Governors of Exhibition Place today approved the construction of additional seating at the north end of the stadium by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd (MLSEL).
- December 02, 2009Toronto City Council voted 36-4, approving the hotel development with HKHotels on the grounds of Exhibition Place. Scheduled to go under construction in 2011 and open in 2013, the approved “Hotel in the Garden” will be located south of Direct Energy Centre and adjacent to the new Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place.
- October 09, 2009At its meeting yesterday, The Board of Governors of Exhibition Place unanimously approved an agreement with HK Hotels for a 320 room, 26 storey glass tower hotel located south of Direct Energy Centre and adjacent to the new Allstream Centre.
- September 23, 2009Exhibition Place reduced its electricity demand by 1.6 MW for four hours as a participant in the Ontario Power Authority’s (OPA) Demand Response 3 (DR3) program. Working with Direct Energy Business, Exhibition Place stands to earn in excess of $150,000 for annual participation in the program and an additional $1,000 for each event called during 2009.
