The Board of Governors meets 6-8 times each calendar year to review the operation and management of Exhibition Place, and to approve or recommend approval to City Council of business and contractual matters that enhance the viability and profitability of Exhibition Place.

The provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006 stipulate that Exhibition Place may be used for:

  • Parks and Exhibition purposes;
  • The purpose of trade centres and trade and agricultural fairs such as, but not limited to, the annual Canadian National Exhibition and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair;
  • Displays, agricultural activities, sporting events, athletic contests, public entertainment, and meetings;
  • Highway, electrical transmission, or public utility purpose; and
  • Any other purpose that City Council may approve.
