Enercare Centre Kitchen Upgrades
The Spectra catering kitchen inside the Enercare Centre will be undergoing a full renovation this summer! The renovation will include new lighting fixtures, ceiling and flooring, brand new equipment including upgraded refrigeration units and a top of the line Rational oven, and structural changes for more efficient flow of traffic in the kitchen. The transformation is slotted to take place from late June to mid-July, with an expected reopening on Monday, July 22nd. Keep an eye on your inbox for some updates about the fresh new space once it is completed.
Master Plan consults
The City of Toronto is seeking your input as a client of Exhibition Place as they undertake a Master Plan project for Exhibition Place. The Master Plan follows the City of Toronto’s Cultural Heritage Landscape Assessment, and will play a significant role in the future of Exhibition Place development and evolution. If you would like to be a part of the client consultation with City Planning for the Master Plan for Exhibition Place, please Catherine de Nobriga at cdeNobriga@explace.on.ca.
Collective Bargaining Agreement Updates
As you may be aware, Exhibition Place has agreements with several trade unions. In early 2019, we successfully ratified a collective agreement with the Carpenters Local 27, which extends until December 2020. The Local 46 Plumbers (ICI) collective agreement has been ratified. We are currently in collective bargaining with Painters Union, C.U.P.E. Parking Local 2840, IBEW Local 353 and LiUNA Local 506. Bargaining sessions have been ongoing and with negotiation dates set through the months of June and July, we will continue to provide you with updates over the coming weeks.
Wifi Upgrades at ExPlaceTO
Exhibition Place continues to invest in information technology (IT) upgrades, increasing our capabilities to meet the needs of our clients. The upgrades include the installation of a high bandwidth 10Gb internet feed in addition to our existing 1Gb and 100Mb feeds. Both Beanfield Centre and Enercare Centre have had high-density WiFi systems deployed, allowing for large numbers of wireless users to be supported.
With the upgrades to our wireless system and a 10Gb internet pipe, our WiFi network will be able to cope with a higher user density and provide more bandwidth, improving the online experience for users at Exhibition Place.
