On Tuesday we learned that the City’s Shelter Support and Housing Administration Division has selected a number of locations to erect respite sites for people experiencing homelessness in Toronto.
Gore Park, across the street from the Princes' Gates at Exhibition Place, and Lamport Stadium in Liberty Village have been chosen as two of these locations. These 24-hour respite sites plan to open in November for homeless and vulnerable persons as we head into the winter season.
We have noted on the map below the intended location of the Gore Park respite site.
To find out more about plans for the two sites, including Gore Park, the City of Toronto will host an Open House Meeting on Monday, September 17, from 5–9PM at the Fort York Visitor Centre, 250 Fort York Blvd.
