80s Were You There?
Photographer Lou D has opened his 35mm vault to curate an exclusive showcase featuring images of iconic performances that took place at Exhibition Stadium. Before its demolition in 1999, the stadium stood south of the current BMO Field. It was a popular Toronto concert venue as well as home to the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Argonauts.

For over three decades, Lou D has been a vibrant chronicler of pop culture, capturing its electric pulse since the 1980s. Beginning concert photography as a teenager with Queen’s iconic Toronto performance, Lou’s journey exploded into a decade of thrilling coverage across North America and beyond. From the legendary Exhibition Stadium performances to the unforgettable 1990 summer showdown—capped by Knebworth’s epic stage and Roger Waters’ monumental The Wall in Berlin—Lou’s been at the heart of the action, preserving music history.
