Heritage Walking Tour 2026

Step back in time and explore the historic areas of Exhibition Place on this free guided Heritage Walking Tour of the West Grounds. The tour will cover significant events that took place in the area and highlight some of the historic treasures found here.
Some stops include Scadding Cabin, Toronto’s oldest building, which was moved from the Don River to Exhibition Place in 1879 and is operated by the York Pioneers Historical Society. Participants will also visit the Marilyn Bell Plaque, commemorating the 16-year-old swimmer who became the first person to swim across Lake Ontario in 1954, as well as the site of Fort Rouillé, a French fur trading fort established in the 1750s. Additional highlights include the Bandshell, Shrine Peace Memorial, and the Garden of the Greek Gods.

at 1:00 p.m. The tour is approximately two hours in length.
