Jane’s Walk

Join us for a walk-through history with the CNE & Exhibition Place Archives as part of Jane’s Walk! Discover how the CNE grounds, once known as “Exhibition City” or “City within a City,” was home to everything you’d expect in a bustling town—from fire and police stations to a bank, hospital, post office, and even a barbershop! This fascinating tour will take you on a journey through buildings and areas that were once the heart of the grounds.

Jane’s Walk celebrates the legacy of Jane Jacobs, a passionate urbanist who fought to preserve the iconic Music Building in 1988. Her commitment to the people-friendly spaces we love today lives on in these walks, where we explore how our cities evolve and grow.

Don’t miss out—grab your walking shoes and come explore the past with us!

Walk Start: Princes’ Gates (Princes’ Blvd and Canada Blvd)

Walk End: Rose Garden (Prince Edward Island Cres and Ontario Dr)
