Beanfield Centre Sky Bridge

June 25, 2021

We have great news! Despite delays due to COVID-19,  the Sky Bridge connecting Beanfield Centre to Hotel X Toronto is complete as originally planned. The ribbon-cutting ceremony has not yet been planned.

The glass-enclosed Sky bridge connects Hotel X to the historic Automotive Building, which was designated a heritage building in 1988 and now houses the Beanfield Centre. The bridge design features a  floor-to-ceiling laminated insulated glass panel cladding that encloses the architectural exposed steel structure, and a three-colour interlayered film and 5mm dot bird-friendly ceramic frit pattern. The multicolour film decreases the solar heat gain to under 50% of the levels of clear glazing.

Huge thanks to NORR, Ellis Don, and all the staff of Beanfield Centre and Hotel X for working cooperatively to overcome so many challenges thrown our way by COVID-19 and get us back on track for final completion! Stay tuned for details on the ribbon-cutting ceremony!
