Food Truck’N Weekend is coming back to Exhibition Place
Toronto’s only socially-distanced food truck festival returns to the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex on July 18 and July 19 with a full line-up of top food trucks.
Toronto’s top food trucks will once again be converging at Exhibition Place this weekend as part of the city’s only socially-distanced food truck festival series.
Following the success of the Food Truck’N Canada Day Festival on July 1, Liberty Entertainment Group and Food Truck’N Events are collaborating once more to host the second Food Truck’N Weekend on July 18-19 on the grounds of Exhibition Place in front of the Liberty Grand. The first Food Truck’N Weekend took place at the same location on July 4-5, on the heels of the Canada Day Festival, and featured 10 food trucks.
The all-‐outdoor event will include another exciting lineup of Toronto’s top mobile kitchens this weekend including: The Arepa Republic; Espeto Brazil; Eva’s Original Chimneys; Funnel Cake Dream; Shawarma Gate; Mustache Burger; El Bosco; Jerk Brothers and Tdots Naansense (lineup is subject to change). There will also be a fully licensed patio featuring high-‐profile sponsors Vellamo Mineral Water and Corona.
As with the Canada Day Festival and the first Food Truck’N Weekend, this latest event will once again adhere to strict health and safety protocols to help ensure the well-‐being of all guests and staff. Protocols include socially-distanced tables and 12-foot picnic areas, directional route markers and distanced queue markings, a no cash-payment policy with the food trucks, and mandatory face coverings and gloves for all staff and food truck personnel. Tables are also cleaned and sanitized after each use, on-site bathrooms are regularly cleaned throughout the day, and hand sanitizer will be readily available. Plus, contact tracing information will be collected and masks are mandatory upon entry. Those who do not have a mask can purchase one for $2.
“Our guests have been absolutely blown away by the level of safety measures we’ve implemented and have told us they felt safe and secure while on site at all times,” says Jason Bellissimo, founder of Food Truck’N Events, which is also behind the popular Food Truck’N Friday series. “Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our guests, and we’ve shown that with the right measures in place, we can all enjoy the summer season in a safe and responsible way. And with the Liberty Grand’s beautiful waterfront location, there’s no better spot to enjoy some of the city’s best food!”
Food Truck’N Weekend will take place from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 and 3:00 - 9:00pm on Sunday, July 19 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex (25 British Columbia Road). Admission is free. Plenty of paid parking is available.
