During these unprecedented times, it is fair to say that our industry is evolving and adapting for the foreseeable future. Effective resumption relative to our line of work involves creating an event venue that serves as a safe event space to host business and public events. This will require resources, procedures, and best practices that will ensure public health, instill confidence, and allow members of the public to safely re-engage in business events interactions. Exhibition Place has been working closely with authorities to provide our clients with a reopening guide that continues to evolve as necessary.
Exhibition Place is working collaboratively with clients to plan and execute their events within the thresholds established by the Medical Officer of Public Health and levels of Government. As part of this effort, all departments across Exhibition Place have been tasked with developing recommendations and best practices that will enable our clients to operate within our venues during the recovery phase of the Pandemic. Read the guidance for professional meeting and event facilities
We have prepared a Business Events Safe Reopening* document that relates to the recovery of our business and how Exhibition Place is supporting our clients through the safe opening of larger gatherings. This is an ever-evolving document and it is relevant to what today’s protocols would look like if we could hold larger gatherings.
*As the recommendations of this pandemic changes/or progresses, this document will evolve to take on the new recommendations outlined by Public Health and the City of Toronto. We will continue to evolve and pivot as we move through the post-pandemic and into the new future.
Exhibition Place is committed to welcoming you back safely. Today, all facilities at Exhibition Place are at 100% capacity under the current regulations. Our staff is fully vaccinated. Please do your part, self-screen, wear a mask, show your proof of vaccination, and practice physical distancing when appropriate.

FOUR PILLARS OF PROTECTION
Exhibition Place has embraced Four Pillars of Protection for the recovery of Live Business and Public Events. The way in which we will look at these protection pillars is to establish best practices that are consistent with live events (i.e. – arriving at the site, entrance into the venue, registration, washroom use and so on); we will then delve into the nuances of each event stream by type, and provide guidance accordingly
1. Physical Distancing & Attendee Health Protection Measures
2. Cleaning & Hygiene
3. Protect, Detect & Staff Training
4. Communication | Sales & Marketing
GBAC – STAR FACILITY ACCREDITATION
Exhibition Place is the first Canadian venue to receive the GBAC Star™ Facility Accreditation. Designed to assist venues of all sizes to develop a comprehensive system of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention, GBAC STAR™ helps facilities better prepare for, respond to, and recover from biohazard situations like the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The GBAC STAR Program will enable the Exhibition Place to:
1. Establish and maintain a standardized cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to control and/or minimize the risk associated with infectious agents such as SARS-CoV-2 (responsible for COVID-19 disease) for employees, customers, clients, visitors, the community, and the environment.
2. Provide assurance and establish confidence that proper cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention work practices are in place and implemented.
3. Establish a framework for communication and raising awareness of best practices as they relate to cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention.
SAFE TRAVELS STAMP
Exhibition Place received the Safe Travels Stamp designation from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAC).
The WTTC and TIAO have created a self-certified Safe Travels Stamp based on worldwide industry protocols the WTTC has put together for every aspect of the hospitality and tourism sector.
The specially designed stamp will allow travellers to recognise governments and companies around the world which have adopted globally standardized health and hygiene global protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.
